Terms of Service

1. Description of Service

LexTrace ("Service") is a time-tracking integration designed to connect with your Notion workspace. The Service includes:

• A Notion embed widget for tracking time directly inside your Notion pages
• A web dashboard (Cabinet) for managing your account, subscription, and settings
• Data export capabilities (CSV, PDF, and Excel formats) for your time tracking records

The Service relies on third-party platforms (Notion's API) to function. We strive for high availability but cannot guarantee 100% uptime, especially depending on Notion's API availability.

2. Notion API & Data Access

• By connecting LexTrace to your Notion workspace, you explicitly authorize the application to interact with your workspace via OAuth.
• LexTrace is scoped to write timer data, read necessary database schemas, and receive your Notion account email so we can support your account and service communications.
• LexTrace may receive real-time updates from your Notion workspace to keep your data in sync.
• We do not assume ownership, access, or control over the content of your Notion workspace.
• You retain full ownership of all data stored within your Notion databases.

3. User Responsibilities

• Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your Notion accounts and any devices running the LexTrace embed.
• Embed Security: If you use the LexTrace widget inside Notion, do not share your embed installation links or setup codes with unauthorized users.
• Acceptable Use: You agree not to abuse, exploit, reverse-engineer, or use the Service for any illegal activities or violations of platform guidelines.

4. Billing, Subscriptions, and Refunds

LexTrace offers the following plans:

• Free: Core time tracking features (start, stop, pause).
• Pro Trial: A 7-day free trial of all Pro features, no credit card required. If you do not add a payment method before the trial ends, your subscription will be paused until a payment method is provided.
• Pro: Full access to all features including charts, data export, and goals. Available as monthly or yearly billing.

Billing is processed automatically on a recurring basis through Stripe, our payment processor. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms of processing. Promotion codes may be applied during checkout where available.

You can manage your subscription, update payment details, or cancel at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal accessible from Cabinet. Upon cancellation, your account will revert to the free plan at the end of your current billing cycle.

Payments are non-refundable unless otherwise required by law or explicitly stated during checkout.

5. Limitation of Liability & "As Is" Warranty

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied. LexTrace does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.

LexTrace and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation, data loss within your Notion workspace, loss of profits, or business interruptions arising out of the use or inability to use the Service.

6. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to LexTrace at any time, with or without cause or notice, including if you breach these Terms of Service.

You may delete your account at any time from Cabinet settings. Upon deletion, all your data will be permanently removed from our servers, any active subscriptions will be canceled, and your payment profile will be removed from our payment processor. This action is irreversible.

7. Intellectual Property

• The LexTrace name, logo, and branding are the property of their respective owners.
• You retain full ownership of all data you create and store within your Notion databases.
• The Service itself (code, design, and documentation) is proprietary. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service.

8. Modifications to Terms

• We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or via email.
• Your continued use of LexTrace after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
